In late 2009 the Company developed a close link with Imperial College in London through the appointment of Professor Andrew David Miller as chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board. Prof. Miller is Professor of Organic Chemistry & Chemical Biology at Imperial College London and founding Director of the Imperial College Genetic Therapies Centre (GTC). The company has since met with representatives of Imperial College Innovations and contracts in order to discuss the financing of selected biomedical projects and novel IP going forward. Status:
Prime Bioresearch is in a unique position; from a modest capital base, to create significant value by cost-efficiently checking out worldwide patents on potential drugs and, through its global network of companies and scientists, to commercialise and partner successfully to develop those targets.
The unique feature is the low cost-base through global sourcing that allows for an industrious scanning of targets, followed by identification, protection and collaboration through established partnerships.
The profit upside for the already-owned proprietary IP has been provisionally identified at a combined US$2.6 billion (source: info@primebio.com). The potential value of an in-licensing deal for the pipeline of two targeted cancer patents may be of a similar scale. In addition, Prime Bioresearch is looking at a significant pipeline of further drug targets.
